Sixth Day: May 29, 2018 

After six days of not attending STEMmersion, I came back to a day where we all went to Delco Park. After a two mile walk from school to the park, we gathered underneath the picnic area. Here, we met with an artist and an author, who described their backgrounds and the activity they had planned for us that morning. The activity was creating a creature known as a “Me-tot”. this is an animal that incorporates aspects of three different animals. Based on three adjectives that described us best, we listed three animals that represent each attribute the most before creating a hybrid of the three animals. The three adjectives I picked were: talkative, logical and curious. I chose an octopus, dolphin and a duck as the animals that best represent each adjective. I then sketched a drawing of what the animal would look like, and even wrote a biography of the animals and its traits. Afterwards, we were free to roam around Delco Park, so I decided to lay on the picnic table and tan in the sun before playing volleyball with some friends. We left the park and walked back to school.

Two miles doesn’t seem like a lot, considering I run in my free time; however, in the hot sun and the busy roads, it was difficult getting there and back. I should have asked to drive to and from the park. I ‘ll keep that in mind the next time we visit the park again.
